Postponed Summer
It wasn't long before the successes and happiness of the ship's crew became legend. Words spread far and wide. Other ships landed and the population of Numpty Island grew.
The monsters continued to suffer big losses but monsters were everywhere and they multiply fast. There was a special force formed and they dealt with most of the warriors.
Pretty soon, for the first time for centuries in fact, the Island was a peaceful place. The pub reopened with Ralph's help and there was a general store -- the store sold generals at rock bottom prices but the guilty did not go free.
Ex, the master of arms and smiles, basked in the sunlight and befriended a strange and mysterious bird. The bird made crazy sounds like a whole jungle would but Ex was always satisfied, and the rest of us just had to admire his plumage.
The store was handled by a big mind call Most Auspicious Captain Fernandez and don't be mistaken, she was really a she, and some of the big dogs got jealous -- no doubt about that. She managed the markets until the sell-off started in France of course. One market effects another and most everything is connected it seems. Or at least it should be. The Island was a place where we had to depend on each other to survive.
Pretty soon generals were in short supply and some people got scared. New species of Numpties were still being discovered. Numpties could be dangerous and some had to be feared. Nature is cruel on Numpty Island.
The population grew and grew and there were problems. Happiness and harmony are not as contagious as vanity and greed. Even ideologies erupted.
But the music had started again. The sounds could be heard at night for thousands of miles around.
Numpty Island was alive.
